The Smiths Before 1985 – Guitar Covers

A collection of YouTube Shorts – clips roughly sixty seconds long – for all early Smiths songs (up to the end of 1984) .

Johnny Marr used F# standard tuning, along with the occasional song in Open E, pretty much exclusively for the early catalogue when playing live.

The list of links below is in order of recording as documented in the book Songs That Saved Your Life, by Simon Goddard. Eventually I’ll complete the full set. In all of the clips played on the Rickenbacker, the guitar is tuned to F# standard.
