Opening track of the debut album. This song was recorded several times in radio sessions and during the abandoned Troy Tate album sessions before finally completed in October 1983.
I’ve transcribed based upon the way that Johnny Marr played this song live in 1983/84.
Live and in the studio Marr would tune his guitar up a whole tone for this song but (as usual) I’ve opted for a capo at the 2nd fret.
Gear
For the audio I’m using my Rickenbacker 330 into a DAW via the Amplitube 4 plugin. I’ve opted for an approximation of the live rig used by Marr in the mid-80’s so am using a Fender Twin & Tweed Bassman with some compression, chorus and delay.
